5 Easy To Understand Reasons You Need To Update Your Site

We could take the short route and simply tell you that you need a new site because it’s 2015 and there’s no better time than now – but that wouldn’t be very helpful, and we like to be helpful people at RODA marketing.

There are many other, more complex reasons why you need an updated site as soon as possible – the 5 reasons below are simply a starting point.

When you’re ready to take your online presence to the next level, so the Internet can help improve your real world KPI’s, let us know.  Take a look at What We Do by clicking here.

  1. YOUR SITE NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIVE

This is by far the biggest reason to update your site in 2015. Don’t believe us? Just ask Google  – they have gone on record saying that businesses that do not have a responsive site will rank lower than businesses that do have a responsive site (all other things being equal).

Most industries in Lancaster, PA still have not adopted responsive site technology, which means you have a huge advantage (long-term) over your competition if you update your site before them.

  1. YOUR SITE NEEDS TO INTEGRATE SOCIAL MEDIA

With an updated site, you can more easily integrate Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) into your site. You should have your Social Media accounts highlighted in the header or footer of your site, so people can easily find your accounts and follow you socially.

Also, putting social sharing icons on all of your blogs makes it easy for people to share your content across the different social media, getting more eyes on your brand and visitors to your site.

  1. YOUR SITE NEEDS TO HAVE CLEAR CALL TO ACTIONS

When someone comes to your site, it’s usually with a specific purpose in mind. Whether that reason is to schedule an appointment, download a PDF, contact you for answers to their questions, or anything else they need to do, it’s your site’s job to make it easy for the user to accomplish their desired task.

You generally have between 3-5 seconds to grab a visitor’s attention, so you want to make a great impression and give them what they’re looking for right away.

Your address and phone number in the header and footer, social media buttons in the header or footer, contact form on the home page, etc. are all a great start to having a higher converting site.

  1. YOUR SITE NEEDS TO BUILD YOUR BRAND AS AN AUTHORITY

In an industry where the majority of sites are outdated and somewhat painful to look at (potential customers like easy to use and understand site), updating your site could make an enormous difference in the amount of clients you get.

Furthermore, updating your site will give you the opportunity to keep your branding uniform across all platforms – site, Facebook, Twitter, etc., so your brand looks like the leader it’s meant to be.

  1. YOUR SITE NEEDS TO PRODUCE A LOW BOUNCE RATE

Doing all the above items will greatly reduce your bounce rate, which is the amount of people who land on your site and leave before visiting any other pages, besides they one they landed on.

A site with a 50% bounce rate means that half of the people that hit your site (whatever page they may enter in) leave without diving further into your site.

If your site has 1,000 visitors/month, updating your site (and decreasing your bounce rate from 50% to 25% – for example) would mean an additional 250 people more interested in your product or service.

There are many more reasons to update your site – if you want to gain more clients, and keep them coming back to your site, contact us at RODA marketing.
